Julie Gonzalo and James Trevena Talk Romance, Laughter and A Knight to Remember
A magical premise still needs a believable connection. For Julie Gonzalo and James Trevena, that connection was central to bringing A Knight to Remember to life.
The Hallmark romance follows museum conservator Emily, whose impulsive kiss brings a statue of an English knight to life. Gonzalo and Trevena joined Sarah from Suspenders Unbuttoned Media to discuss the emotional foundation beneath the fantasy.
Gonzalo explained how Griffin’s kindness and authenticity help Emily become more open to him. Trevena spoke about recognizing himself in Griffin’s willingness to express his feelings and wear his heart on his sleeve.
Their conversation also revealed plenty of laughter behind the romance. Trevena recalled laughing throughout their dancing scene and described the shoot as three weeks filled with laughter.
Playing a knight had its challenges, too. The actors discussed the heat and discomfort of the medieval costumes, with Trevena explaining that the armor helped him feel out of place in a way that suited Griffin.
Watch our interview below for more on the romance, the costumes, and what Gonzalo and Trevena wish for viewers.
A Knight to Remember premieres October 3 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel and streams October 4 on Hallmark+.
